If you've come here from S.E. Dee's blog and are expecting the ramblings of an alien, you will be disappointed. I don't ramble on my blog. Much.

Let's meet my character. Or rather, characters. I have two mains.

What are the names of your characters? Are they fictional or historic people?
Masika Brodrick-Lexand and Farren Biratba. They are most definitely fictional.

When and where is the story set?
The planet is called Noidus and Masika and Farren can be found in Sabinar's capital city, Ley. Not the same Ley as I wrote about before, but the city did start there I guess (actually it started even before that Ley, in a speculative sci-fi short story I wrote maybe three or four years ago - but that's for another post). Political tension is stirring up, what with the upcoming election and the whole racism issue between the people and the cynocephs (a sub-race of people who have dog heads).


What should we know about Masika and Farren?
Masika loves her step-dad, Waltin Lexand, as if he were her biological father - which makes sense since he's the only dad Masika ever knew. He's also the Leader of Sabinar.

Farren had to watch both her parents die of an incurable illness a year after burying her favourite (also only) uncle. She lives alone and mostly keeps herself to herself.

What is the main conflict - what messes up their lives?
Farren's alien-human hybrid cousin is being tortured in the name of scientific discovery - right on Waltin Lexand's doorstep. Masika stumbles across this and alerts Farren. The two of them bust Farren's cousin out, but then have to go into hiding or risk being charged as kidnappers and rebels.

What is the personal goal of the character?
Masika wants to break the bubble of her wealthy life and right the wrong caused by her step-dad, while Farren just wants to keep her last remaining relative safe.

Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

Dreams of Rebellion and so far, you can just read the drips and drabs of information that occasionally appear on my blog.

When can we expect the book to be published?
This question made me very sad. I was about to put something sarcastic like "Maybe when I'm 20" and then I realised I already am 20... Oh boy. Maybe when it's actually been edited properly by me and critiqued by at least half a dozen people. So, some time between summer 2015 and eternity?
