The classic

I recently visited Lisbon with my girlfriend and her family, and on my way back to London, I was an hour early for my flight. So I browsed the very tiny airport, looking for a way to throw away the euros burning a hole in my pocket. I then came across this beauty:

At 6 it was a bargain for something so beautiful. It definitely was not something that I needed (I literally found a notebook in my room the other day and thought to myself "when did I get this??" because I have so many). But when I saw it, I knew it was something that would fit perfectly into my life. Why? Because I'm going to America for 49 days in October.

That's right. My flights are booked, my family informed. I'm spending the entirety of October and half of November in the US of A. And what does every writer need on a long trip away from home? A good quality notebook! And a diary, of course, which I also have (but it's not nearly as exciting).

Like most writers, I'm a sucker for a good notebook, and I basically collect them since I always have so many.

This one has gold edges. Gold. Edges. How cool is that?? Very cool, that's how cool. I'm not too thrilled about the cover design but the gold edges makes up for that completely.

My "I'm a character from a fantasy novel" notebook, a gift from S.E. Dee for my... last birthday? Birthday before last? A random "just because she loves me" present? I'm ashamed to say I can't remember what the occasion was. However, this is an AMAZING notebook, so amazing that I have dreams of one day living as a fantasy character so I can write in it and feel authentic. It involves owning a horse.

This is probably the most feminine notebook I've ever owned. I know for a fact that one of my best friends bought it for me for my... something birthday. (Dammit!) What I truly love about it, though, is how many pages it has. It's as thick as an actual novel. So - in theory - I could write an entire novel in it.

One day.

Okay this is a notebook I do actually use. It's a bit smaller than the previous ones, which are all your standard A5 notebook size. I use this baby for my poems. It's full of blue ink and scribbles. And giraffes! I love giraffes.

And now I have a new notebook to write my scribbles in when I go to America. Just look at those pages, waiting to be filled with my nonsense.
